avi to dvd please help!!! i haven't got a clue what i'm doing but i have managed to download a movie and save it to my files but when i try to burn it to a dvd it using nero it won't let me. what do i need to do to get my film onto disc? :bangh: |
What type of file is it. I've used nero many times without any problems. Have a look at this tutorial: Making a DVD Video using Nero 7 Premium |
Thanks but I've got nero 7 essentials not premium and the screens look different. Do I need to upgrade my nero? |
Unfortunatley Nero essentials will not burn a dvd...I found this info at afterdawn about it...(it's the 3rd post down) ;) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/493089 Try getting the trial version of Nero 7 it lasts for 30 days, that way you can see if you like it... |
Thanks, went and bought nero premium and have managed to burn dvd to a disc but when i tried to do another one it went through the transcoding (took about 6 hours) then told me it was too big for the disc. The film was 1hr 58mins long and disc should hold 2hrs, is there way of shortening it without having to go through the transcoding again? |
nope....unless you have a dual layer DVD burner and at least one DL disc around, other than that you will have to start over and choose long play for the compression algorithm (which will sacrifice kwality)...you don't mention just how much too big the file is...it might be possible to edit out some of the beginning (credits) and the ending (credits)to make it just barely fit.... |
I have that happen to me all the time as well, it's a normal 700mb odd file, it's very frustrating...the bar along the bottom even indicates it fit's fine and it tells you the quality is very good, but still you get the message at the end saying it will not fit... I haven't found a solution for that yet either...:( |
