I Obviously Need Help!!!! is flying high
Angry Limewire acting odd (won't stay open)

2 days ago, i was using limewire; worked perfectly. then, i use it yesterday, and it would open, then close w/in 2 seconds.

i have updated and downloaded the Java package. didnt work.

i have deleted the .limewire folder; didnt work

i have uninstalled limewire and reinstalled online version. didnt help

i then downloaded the offline version; still didnt work

WHAT THE HECK DO I DO!!!!!!!!!??????????????

2. What firewalls you have?
I turn em off
3. How much ram?
1.60GHz, .99 GB of RAM
4. Hard Disk space available?
aorund 7.5 GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
wireless router
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
Linksys
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)?

8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
the newest (4.12.11); and the java sumthin 6u1 (newest)
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)?
AOL?
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

new problem- ive had LW for 4 years
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?
when its on for 2 seconds yes

AOL are known to mess with P2P, put AOL in our Search at top of page & see
what others have done to help.

Try the Beta version, use the offline installer....

Try this....
Right-click the Limewire icon and go to properties and change compatability setting to Windows 2000. (but only if you're using Windows 2000 or later.) Somebody reported changing to Windows NT compatibility fixed their problem despite not using that operating system version.
