Ok....try Java again but this time use the 5.11 JRE offline version....(5th one down)...

Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer (not the recommended one)...

Then delete the preference folder called LimeWire...(not .limewire)

IONH, are you using AOL's antispyware protection? It's been known to cause problems with LW before (use the forum search to look for pest patrol & you'll find more threads). If you are, disable the antispyware & then see whether LW will open for you.

i made a mistake- the Internet Provider is "Bellsouth DSL" and i use Norton as internet and computer security

If pestpatrol is used, then LW will have been partially removed. Answer would be to reinstall. And put LW on PP's safelist or find another more reliable spyware app.
