Question delayed sound on downloaded movies

For some reason once I have downloaded a movie and burn it to disk I am getting the karate movie effect , the movie sound is faster than the characters mouths in the movie. Not sure if its my fault or what but I am fairly new to this so I am a bit lost on it...please help.
Thanks

First of all, this is not the easiest problem to fix. Prepare to be frustrated.
Check your movies on your computer before you burn to disk. That way, you will not waste your money! I will need more information before I can help.

Are you converting your movies to DVD format?
If so, what was the original format?
What program(s) are you using to convert and burn?
Do the movies have an audio delay before you convert?
What speed are you burning at?
What media are you using?

P.S. Here's a link to a previous thread on the same topic:

Ok, like I said I'm new to this. All I know is I am using cyberlink power2go, I use the create movie on DVD in DVD-Video format. I am reviewing one of my downloads now and it has no delays in it. I have been burning at max speed on previous burns but i never paid that any attention until now, if that matters. All of my movies play with WMP. I tried to look at the other related thread in your response and that looks way difficult, I can barely even understand all the lingo thats used in it. I know its a little difficult trying to help someone who barely even knows how to use a computer but I really appreciate you even trying to help me.

I read somewhere once that using your computer while it is transcoding can cause the problem you are having. You could try leaving your computer alone while it does this and see if that helps.

Another easy fix: you can buy a DVD player that will play file types other than DVD format. I bought one for around $30 that will play AVI files. Look for the DivX logo. Most movies will appear slightly smaller than a widescreen movie, but at least you can watch them on your television.

If you are interested in more complicated techniques with better software, I would recommend afterdawn.com.

You may be new to all of this, but I was also new to it not that long ago!

Good Luck

Dano
