Sits at Connecting Status
 

Last night I had files downloading one after another because I am trying to download the ones I want for my Blackberry Pearl. But then suddenly, they just stopped downloading. So I let them sit over night while trying plenty of other files to see if those would download. Now these have at least 100 something for the number.

I woke up this morning and they have the "Need More Sources" status. I upgraded to Pro thinking that might be the problem. Still nothing works and it sits at connecting.

So what the heck is going on with this?!


I click Yes on the License question thing.. but I've always done that. Still nothing downloads.

I have a similar problem
 

I did use limewire about a month ago and successfully downloaded about 20 songs. Yesterday and today i tried to download some other songs I attempted more than 100 times and every single time it ended up with need more resources.

I read some other posts about similar problems and possibe cures. I closed limewire erased the program and searched for limewire at c drive including the hidden files and erased all of them and reinstalled limewire. After that i tried to download a popular song and result is the same, at first it says connecting then it becomes need more resources.

I would be glad to hear your advices. It seems like there are some other people having the same problem.

I found that search is the key to avoid spam
 

I found from one article that if the song is kind of new and search is done with the full name of singer most results (4000 in my case) will be fake, therefore I couldn't download anyone of them. Searching with partial name gives fewer results but usable ones, now I can download.

I'm getting this too.

It goes from Queued, then quickly jumps to Connecting and then it hangs here.

I've managed to successfully download files in between two instances of this happening to me.

I haven't changed settings or options or anything, makes me feel a bit like I'm walking on eggs whenever I use LW - I never know if it's going to work or not.

The two songs that seem to consistently fail aren't too new (the third one is fairly recent) - they're [edit] with 2,824 results, and [edit] with 1,399 results.

Both icon and file extension under the Downloads section of the screen indicate that it's an mp3 - not sure if that'd be an indicator that the file isn't fake.

They would definatley be fake files with that many hosts...This thread will explain what they are and how to avoid them...

Whoops sorry didn't realise I wasn't to post artists & song names - makes sense from a legal point of view now that I think of it.

Thanks for the links, wondering why... Really comprehensive, so I'll learn from it and have another go!
