Default Downloading large files

Can't download 694.3 megabyte file though LimeWire shows connection as T1 or higher & 68 people are sharing. Tried the "T3 or higher" option but only 1 person has the file & I was also unsucessful downloading.

Help?

Thanks

You really haven't given enough information for anyone to give you any kind of constructive answer. I mean all you've said is, "I can't download a large file, help me", which is nothing at all.

Read this link before re-writing your post: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...tml#post106828

and give us a description of your equipment, along the lines of this: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...-help-you.html

Just remember, that we do not know you from Adam therefore you have to give us enough info so we can help you.

"Can't download 694.3 megabyte file though LimeWire shows connection as T1 or higher & 68 people are sharing. Tried the "T3 or higher" option but only 1 person has the file & I was also unsucessful downloading" is what I said, not, "I can't download a large file, help me".

I do have cable connection (125Mbps) & Windows XP Pro with SP2 and am computer-literate. Though you didn't read my post what you quoted me as saying is quite accurate - LimeWire refuses to download large files; I am consistently hit with "finding more sources" or some such, no matter how long I wait.

Have read other posts on this website from other users having the same problem, and have tried the proffered solutions.

If you can help - rather than denigrate - I will be forever grateful.

Thanks!

Harry, It sounds like the file your trying to dn/ld is a fake. Don't be to concerened with the connection speed of other hosts because anyone can set the connections to what ever you want. Generally speaking the more hosts a file shows the more likely it could be a fake. Its kinda like putting out bait. Always check vidio files with Bitzi. After you do your search, and the files are up, right click on the file you want to dn/ld and go to advanced, click on look up file with Bitzi. If it comes up, Bitprint not found then that is a bad file. Keep searching untill a good file comes up. Also do a little reserch on these forums as they are loaded with alot of great info. I Have XP SP2 also and dn/ld 700+mb files all the time. Hope this helps.

Sorry you felt that I tried to denigrated you, that was not my intention I wanted to know what kind of equipment you had in order to see if there could be any adjustments that could be made.

However, Remoc has given you the advice you require so “all’s well that ends well”. But bear in mind that whenever a novice LW user posts a problem the information that is provided is so minuscule you would not even be able to guess at a solution let alone form an intelligent opinion.

Also, it is difficult to gauge the computer experience a user has based on the expression that the user concerned has an unsolvable problem.
