Default Problem with downloads

Hi,
I've used Limewire before without problems, but for some reason now the songs I download skip. Has anyone had the same problems?

Are both of you using the LW player? It's really horrible, try disabling it (tools > options > player) & making something else your default player.

If the problem persists, check that you're downloading files with a decent bitrate (at least 128, preferably higher). Also try downloading another version of the file...some people reconvert their files to the shithouse so that they end up sounding awful, despite showing a great bitrate.

Otherwise, tell us what sort of files you're downloading (format, bitrate etc) & what players you've tried using. Have you previewed the files & do they sound ok during preview?

Hi
Try downloading & using the VLC media player (Its Free) & recomended by us here
at the limewire forums. VLC player has most all of the codec's built into the player &
plays above average quality for music & exelent quality for video files, (It play's most everything)

If you wish, VLC player can be set as the defult player for your computer, to do this
In Limewire Library, highlight a file mp3, avi or whatever you wish then click on
explore, in the bottom left corner.
This will take you to the shared folder outside of Limewire, right click on a file,
choose, open with, highlight VLC player, then tick the box to always use this program
to open this type of file. Reapete this action to include all the file types you wish VLC
to be the defult player.

Your servant.
Peace.
