Demanding, are we?

Maybe if you provided your system details, we could help.

1. Beware of Fake files in search results

2. How to find music

You sometimes need to be selective of your downloads. Also, don't forget you can right-click the search results Tab & choose Get more results. But knowing how to search helps also. An extra also is Junk Filter (click on link), however I recommend you show junk files at bottom of results because the junk filter is not always accurate & sometimes thinks good files are junk. You need to "train" the junk filter; it is a dynamic learning filter.

Red face doncha just love the awaiting sources & it never happens??

I'm talking never. I have started just deleting the ones that say "awaiting sources" because they never complete. It says in the user manual that the difference between
"need more sources" and "awaiting sources" is that for awaiting sources you must wait a short period before getting the download. This is no short period, for us at least on basic it just never downloads. It just sits there time after time and no matter how long it is resumed or how many times, nada. ???
Ours is a 56K and because of where we are, it is still dial up. Is it because we are on dial up?
I've got the same problem as the original poster but not as"demanding" just some kind of sense would be great.

I know what you mean. My download just sits there as well. It says "awaiting sources" or "need more sources" too. At first you think it's just taking a while, but it just sits there and doesn't download. I've only started experiencing this in April, and it's kind of weird because it never happened before. That day in April I was downloading some songs, but only a few got downloaded, and the rest just said "awaiting sources" and "need more sources" forever. Ever since then, that's all it has been saying when I try to downlaod. The last time I used it prior to that was sometime in January and had no probs. I was able to use it anytime before that as well and it worked fine, so I don't know what could be wrong all of a sudden. I'll try and answer the questions about providing details to better get help. All I know right now is that the limewire version we're using is 4.12.6 and we've a cable modem for our internet. And I'm also wondering why this is happening all of a sudden when my limewire has always worked fine before.

aprilkay69 & night_sky,

You should both read post #4 of this thread. LOTR has posted links to help when seeing fake files

If every file that you try to download does the connecting/need more sources thing (do a test...try to download an old song with less than 10 sources or with a modem source), try this: Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.
