Default Can't download any big files: Movies, Apps

Recently I got back on Limewire after a few months and now I can't download any movies or apps. I can download music fine but It won't connect when downloading movies or anything bigger than music. It says "# of hosts tried" and all the files have like 50 sources.. Its really annoying. I've tried upgrading to another version of Pro but no luck. I've even deleted the preference folder no luck. Does anyone else have this problem? Have they disabled downloading of Apps and Movies?

Someone please help.

Your problem is nothing to do with LW, it is to do with your ISP. When I was with Virgin, now one of the biggest ISPs in the UK, I could download anything. Then Virgin started to throttle P2P usage, I found that I could still download MP3s but could not download movies, in fact I could not download anything over 6MBs.

So, check with your ISP.

I talked to my ISP today and they claim they don't, in anyway, limit P2P traffic. So thats not the issue.

Anybody else got any suggestions?

Actually the problem is probably the files you are choosing to download. They are most likely fakes put on the network by the MPAA. Try looking for files with fewer host 10 or less. Do a bitzi lookup on the files before you choose one to download.

The link below may be of some help.

That might have been the problem.. Because after talking to my ISP I tried downloading a different movie this time and it actually worked. So I guess the issue resolved itself? lol

Thanks for the help.

nope..the issue did NOT resolve 'itself'...you finally chose a real movie...pay attention to Grandpa's sage advice and use Bitzi to verify the veracity of files...
