nutsaboutseries is flying high
Default really slow going

Hi

I've had a look around and tried a few fixes others have been given but i'm a bit of a numpty and am starting to pull my hair out

For some reason downloads are getting a max of 16kb/s

If I downoad multiple files then it seems to spit it between the files

I tried downloading a file as suggested here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...kbps-only.html but only ran at about 4kb/s as I am still downloading some others so it split it.

At this rate I'll have to get a new computer before I've managed to download a movie

here the list of details to help you help me

1. OS version? Windows Vista

2. What firewalls you have? Norton 2007

3. How much ram? 1gig

4. Hard Disk space available? 70GB ish

5. Connection type? BT broadband 8mb

6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? BT home hub

7. Where are you trying to connect from? Home

8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? 4.12.11

9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)?BT

10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: 'Your test worked!'. It worked

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? no

12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I'm a complete newbie

13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes. I've tried turning off the firewall in norton and windows is off but makes no difference. perhaps i haven't done it right or missed something

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled, sorry no idea

thanks
Ben

Ok we will start with BT... They taffic shape p2p connections during peak hours..
::. Kitz - ISP Caps, FUPs and Prices .::

Also your firewall would be comming from the modem/router you are using...It has what they call a Nat Firewall...
These instructions are to Port Forward, so limewire can pass through..
Port Forwarding for the BT Home Hub
