Any help THank YOu :aweof: |
You can only download as fast as the sources will let you. So if you aren't getting very fast speeds, that's probably as fast as is available from those souces. Otherwise search for more sources. Remember sources include people who are from all different types of connections including dial up. Also, most will be sharing their upload bandwidth amongst many users, so you will only get a share. Also, since much of the downloading happening is via partial file sharing (where people are sharing what they have downloaded at that time but are still themselves downloading the file), so there will be little hops in speed as you download each small packet segment of file. Remember you are downloading from other people, not a website. Quite a good test is from the magnet site. Try one of their files & see how it goes: + MagnetMix.com +: The Source for Good Content You didn't mention how fast people are uploading from you at. I find I upload at faster speeds then I download lol :D |
Thank you for the information...And about the upload im not really sure how that works all i know is to download.Does uploading mmake download faster |
Uploads help you connect to more people & help with searches. There's obviously also people with similar tastes as yours so you can browse them if you are able to. Also, this is a peer to peer network, people sharing with each other. If nobody shared, you'd have nothing to download. Unless you like the term "leech". |

lotr thanks very much lotr it has fixed the problem now can you help with the other one i have if i press the help button at the top of the page to connect me to the forum nothing happens or any of the other connecting buttons to anywhere like the advance one tolook up files with bitzi can you tell me if i am going wrong somewhere and if so how to fix it |
I've heard of that happening before. I think it has to do with popup windows allowed in your browser. You will need to add both the forum & Bitzi site to those allowed by your browser. Go to your browser preferences/options & check for allowable popups. Oh actually the forum link links to the LW forum first, http://www.limewire.org/forum/ so that would need to be added to the safe list. :) |
Sloooooooooooooow...? Hi I wonder if anyone can help me...? I've used Limewire on my computer before and never had a problem with it. But it just seems to be taking ages to download anything, when I've used it before a song would take a few minutes...now its like half hour to an hour! Just wondered if anyone had any help they could give me in solving this...? Thanks |
Try downloading a file from here & see what speeds you get. + MagnetMix.com +: The Source for Good Content Do a speed test & tell us the results. Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test Who is your ISP? |
