I am trying to download a song and it will say "Connecting...." under the status thing and then after a few minutes it says it needs more sources when theres many sources!! How do I fix this???

If files sit connecting for ages & then get stuck needing sources forever, they're fake files. They won't ever download. Try the All Types search & vary your search terms...look for artist or album rather than song title. Stay away from files with the huge numbers of sources, go for a file with 10 sources or less, or files with a modem source.

It doesn't work for any song though. I searched for different songs and its not working!!!

Actually... wait, I take that back. Other songs are working its just the one song that I'm trying to get is not downloading. The song I am trying to download is called "****" by *****. Does it work on your limewire?

If this is happening with every file that you try to download (do a test...search for a really old song & then try to download a file with 10 sources or less, or a file with a modem source), try this: Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).

This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.

I searched for an old song and it works. I tried downloading the song I want from another person and it still didnt work!

If other songs download ok, there's nothing wrong with your LW. If it's a really new or really popular song (don't name song titles please), you might see fake files for ages...until someone shares the real thing. Keep searching at different times of day, as people log on & off the network files available for download will change. In this case, it's just a matter of being patient & perservering with the searches.
