Hello to everyone,
Not new to LW , been using it for years,But I have a problem with it now that really bugs me.
I type in a search item and I get a bunch of listings for the file but
none of the listing are active nor have they become active in the last 6 weeks.
Why is this? Why would I get so many listings and them not be active or on line.
Why would LW even list a dead feed on a search that is run ?
This is a total waste of time and sever use wouldn't you think ?
I try the find more sources option and there is nothing else to find ,
just dead listing.
I think LW needs to rethink thier plan on this matter, It is very aggrivatting to say the least when you are looking for stuff.

Do you mean that you haven't been able to download anything for 6 weeks?

There's no central server...you download from other hosts (like you & me) who are sharing files. What happens when you try to download? Do files move into the download pane? If they don't, click on the link below & try that advice.

Or, do files sit connecting for ages & then get stuck needing sources, but never download? If that's the case, you're probably seeing fake files. check out the links below for advice & tips.

I have tried all the mentioned ideas you stated, I now about fake files and all that.
there is only certain files that i can really get without any hessitations and that is porn or sex files or filth like that.
A budy of mine was playing with it last week and tried that and it worked great on that junk.
That pretty well showed me that there are a lot of people posting fake files or blocking people from downloading them , unless they know them or they are in the circle.
The files do show up in my download screen but like you stated they just sit there day in and day out doing nothing, and i have tried one file from over 200 sources in the past 6 weeks with no results.
I have 50 sources on this file going right now and not a one of them done a thing in the last two days

Stay away from files with huge numbers of sources
Fake files typically show heaps of sources. Go for a file with 10 sources or less, or those with a modem source. Try the All Types search & vary your search terms. Have you checked the files you're trying to download now with Bitzi? If a file has heaps of sources but no Bitzi rating, chances are it's a fake.

I just bought PRO and am having the same problems meanddeb is having-any way to switch back to the regular LW-so far the PRO has been a waste of my money AND my time-cannot figure out how to use it-noone speaks english when they try and help-only tech talk-down(up?)loads start, stop never start again-lot of junk in searchs,etc. i used LW for years w/o PRO*****d it but now I'm about to ask for my money back-extremely frustrating-turbo charged?(right!!)AND I keep getting "unknown error-50 occurred. Now there is a useful message.

that is what I am using is Pro , it is not as good as the plan jane version if you please.
This problem has just started on my end , you all know , those who have been using P2P over the years , That this problem will eventually put and end to these programs, No one is going to mess with a program that does not do what it is suppose to do.

All the things you have mentioned are good if it were that simple.
I have known all of it for a long time.
Tech support told me 5 years ago they were trying to solve the problem with people doin exactly what you are talking about with the fake files and junk, but it has gotten worse as time goes on.
I just figured someone would know something I didn't about this problem
