Default very slow downloads........ sometimes says 0kbs

i've only been using a short time was workin good sometimes as fast as 100+kbs on multiple downloads now all of a sudden like 4 or 5 kbs an im using broadband cable someone help me plz



that's my internet connection speed test........ was a lil slower than the fastest in the world i think, now that i look at it it was a lil faster

1. what OS version (eg: Windows 98, XP,OSX, Vista) ? xp

2. What firewalls you have ? windows only

3. How much ram ? 256mb

4. Hard Disk space available ? 20gb

5. Connection type (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) ? CABLE

6.Modem what brand name & model numbers ? motorola surf board

7.Router brand name & model numbers ? none

8. Where are you trying to connect from (house, apartment complex, school, student accommodation, work, etc.) ? home

9. What version,LimeWire & Java, are you using. Go to L/W's Help/About L/W, THIS show both LW & Java version.? 4.12.11 basic 1.50_03

10. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider) ? comcast

11. Do this test click here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ should say 'Your test worked!. What happens ? test worked

12. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. nope only pc

13. Is this your 1st try at LW, or is this a new problem with an experienced user.? worked fine at first up to 100+kbs

14. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface ? No

15. Have you given full permissions for LimeWire to pass through your Firewall ? Yes

16. XP users, Please state XP firewall on or off.? On tried off same

17. In Start & remove Programs, Is this update Installed, "Security Update for Windows XP (KB931261)" ?
If Windows Updates are not seen, Tick the box at top of page, (show updates) Yes it is listed an installed

18. Are you using Manual Port faward in LimeWire OR UPnP ?
You can check HERE, IN LimeWire Go, Tools/options/advanced/firewall Config says Use UPnP

Hey Mark you might try updating your Java. See here. Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11. I have also read that some people think Comcast is throddling P2P where others don't. You might research this a little further. Do you notice a difference in speed at different times of the day or night? If so that might be your problem.

I viewed the link the only thing i really got from it was that i needed to disable the UPnp and set up my firewall for a manual port which i did all that, and tryed using different versions of java. I can't really give an update as to the progress bc i'm only currently downloading one file and its still slow as dirt only dl'ing from like 2 people an they both maybe dialup users so its anyones guess but i'm happy to hear any fresh opinion

i guess my dl speeds are somewhat normal i did have it up over 20kbs which is still slow as poop but i just have to keep reminding myself that i can only dl as fast as others can upload.......
