Default download speed help

Hello, I joined so I could get a little help. I read some of the foums but they didnt help. I have people pc and connect at 115.2 kbps and have had download speeds between 0-6kB/s (sucks, I know). Sometimes I start downloading at 6 but most of the time it stays between 0-3. How can I make it consistantly at 6 or even faster.

More info...
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)-XP
2. What firewalls you have?-McAfee
3. How much ram?-Don't Know
4. Hard Disk space available?-Don't Know
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)- dial-up
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?-Don't know
7. Where are you trying to connect from- House
8. What version of LimeWire-4.12.11 and 1.5.0_03
9. Who is your ISP- People PC
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?- It works
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs- No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.- I've used it before on another computer
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?- No
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled?- I believe UPnP is enabled
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall - McAfee
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country- USA

Sorry, but I'm not that good with computers, if you need more info you might need to explain how to do it or what it is.

the oval with the number(s) in it is the number of files you have available for upload that other people can download and as far as the itunes thing goes......... i dont' even really know anythin about it

ya since ur on a dial up connection your very limited in the amount you can download (sure you know this) if ur downloading 3 files at 4 kbs and someone else is uploading from you......... ur maxed

spyhunter94920,

Because you're on dial up, the best you can do is probably 5 or 6 KB/s. Have a look at the thread below & follow Grandpa's advice...might help you a bit
