All the movies im trying to download will not preview due to an error. They are .avi. Should i keep downloading them? they have 8 hosts but are going very slow.

Well with the limited amount of information you have given it could be several things . First you don't say what the error message is, but I will try to read your mind. I think it is a Codec problem with WMP. If so there are Codec Packs you can dn/ld to help or fix the problem. Let us know

I have the same problem. I'm using Windows Media Player. When I try to preview a file that's still downloading, I get

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."

I can play the files once they're fully downloaded, just not while they're still downloading. Any suggestions to preview?

Tobiassaibot, You said you can play the file after dn/ld with WMP??
See this post for codec just in case.

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...wire-play.html.

It might not hurt to go ahead and dn/ld the codec pack. I know WMP is lacking some codec. Hope this helps.

There is also a very good media player mentioned in this post if you want to try it out.

Hi Calicat, The only advice I can give you here is to get rid of WMP. I hate it. It seems to constantly have problems. I refuse to use it because there are some very good media players out there so why put up with the BullSh*t from MS.
You could try the media player in the above post; VLC.
Hope this helps
