Download Problems I am having trouble downloading certain files. I have updated Limewire to the latest version, my computer is running on XP and I have Norton's Internet Security running. I can download songs and also some video clips, but I am currently trying to download a TV series [edit]. The search results bring up plenty of matches and when I select an episode to download they appear in the download window, but they always just say connecting, then after a while "More sources needed". I have tried pretty much every file in the list but with the same results, even on [edit] which i successfully downloaded last year. I have set Limewire to prompt me about licences and when i say download anyway it still doesn't work. Can anyone tell me why i can download some video files, but not others? They are all the same file format (.avi), all have 4 stars and are all on a Cable/DSL, T1 or T3 connection. __________________________________________________ Edited to comply with the House Rules. Try checking the files with Bitzi before downloading... How to use Bitzi Web Lookup .. & How to use Magnet Links & Direct Connect/Browse/Chat |
Bitzi I have just looked the files up on Bitzi, and it lists a number of episodes that have been rated by other people. I selected one and it gave me a magnet link which i clicked. The file now appears in Limewire download window, but is still not doing anything. It says it's waiting 300s for sources. Also when i click on these links i get an error message sayiing Limewire encountered a problem and needs to be shut down. I click on "don't send" error report and the message goes away, yet Limewire is still running. |
Ahhh this stuff can do your head in sometimes :p can't it... When you click on a magnet link limewire then has to go and search for that particular file and cross your fingers those hosts are online, if you get the Need More Sources after the count down select the Find sources option it will search again... If it doesn't come up with the hosts that more than likely means they are not online at the moment...;) As for the other problem ..I honestly cant tell you why... |
