![]() Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get certain files in my shared folder to show up for searches. I know it's in there and have included the .rar file type among those to be shared in my options, but just can't get it to show. I've downloaded the newest version of Limewire and am able to download files myself with no problem, I just can't seem to share the ones I want to for others. Any suggestions? Thanks, Polly Last edited by polly7; July 19th, 2007 at 08:13 AM. |

![]() ![]() Thanks mickjapa108. This is just a family file I wanted to send to my brother because I can't seem to get it to him by email, even splitting it, something always screws up. Do you think Limewire is somehow blocking it from being shown? I think you can probably tell ........ I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to these things. polly |

![]() It should show up ok, unless your brother has added .rar to his word filter, You could try direct connect, then download direct from his library To do this, click on direct connect tab, at the bottom of search page, that will show your IP you can phone it,or Email it to your brother. Just type it in the box & click you should be in the others library Thats if you have limewire configured correctly Peace. P.S... If either of you have a brick wall in front of the globe at the bottom of Limewire's interface, one or both of you are firewalled.

![]() Wow. Thank you again. I didn't know you could do that. I don't have it configured correctly though I guess because it says "your computer is behind a firewall or router and cannot receive direct connections." I've added Limewire to my allowed programs in ZoneAlarm so am not sure what other firewall it's talking about because I did read the sticky's on connection problems before I posted and remember seeing that Limewire automatically is ok'd by Windows ........ or something like that. eta: No, I didn't see any brick wall shown, but I shut down ZoneAlarm to see if it would work without it and it does, I typed in my own IP address it showed and my folder and files pops right up. So it looks like there's something I need to adjust in ZoneAlarm to allow it. Thanks so much! ![]() Last edited by polly7; July 19th, 2007 at 10:15 AM. |

![]() Yes, I see all my files in my library but when doing a search for that specific one it doesn't show up in the search results. I think I'll follow your suggestion and email him my IP address to use in the direct connect field and maybe just shut down my ZoneAlarm when I know he's going to download it. Polly |

![]() If one other person had downloaded the file, it would then show up with a tick in the quality coulomb, L/W wont include your library in search results, it just notes when you also have that file. If you can direct connect, its always safer & much better, Also Browse Host works much better with Chat enabled in Tools/options. Peace.
