Corrupt Files

I have been using Limewire for about a year. At first no problems but lately every time I try to download a file, I get an error message saying the file is corrupt. This continued for quite awhile and then one day it seemed to stop happening and I was able to upload successfully. Now it back to the corrupt mode on every file. Any idea why this happens and what I can do to fix? I am running on Windows 2003 Professional Edition

Hmmm...

Your posts creates many questions...

The first of which is... Are you SURE you're running LimeWire on "Windows 2003 Professional" ?

Windows 2003 is an OS for SERVERs and will normally give you enormous headaches with apps such as LimeWire.

Perhaps you meant Windows 2000 Professional which happens to be my first choice for a Windows OS... Even today... And, I am hardly alone around here !

Second, please clarify what you mean as you refer to both Downloading and Uploading.

Third, What application is generating the "Corrupt File message" ?

We also need the usual basic info re: your computer and setup, i.e. connection type and firewall and 'internet security' software and all the rest of the stuff...
OK ?

Don't worry, your prob will get sorted here...

Corrupt Files

Ursula:

Sorry my mistake, I am running on a Dell Latitude X300 and the OS is Windows XP Professional. I am on DSL with Windows firewall and internet security is Trend Micro. The setup on this computer has been the same for the entire time and I have been able to download before with this configuration.

The error message is a Limewire dialog box that says the file I am trying to download is corrupt and asks me if I wish to continue. If I run it as a preview or continue download and then try to play file, it will play the first 5-10 seconds and then stop.
