Question Not smart enough (connect 2 computers)

I could use some help from someone. I have two cpu's
#1 old home computer windows xp w/dsl bridged by netgear router for wifi with
#2 new laptop windows vista
#1 has over 800 songs and other media. when i click on the library in limewire. it has on the left side shared files ... saved files... incomplete files... i show at the bottom of the screen that im sharing 55 files ..and no firewalls (i have 800 plus media) recently i was lucky enough to actually connect my two cpu with direct connect (Pure luck there) i wanted to move all the media from #1 to #2 so i dont have to redownload each and every song and listen to them all again for the imperfections causing me to redownload again. looking at the screen it showed dat. exe. types of files but no music. If i connect with other computers it shows their music why not mine??????????
I have tried everything i can think of to share that music but it wont ( i have determined this from the fact that when i download new music on the #2 it automatically shows 1 more file being shared)
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN !!!!
I need two things to share with others on my #1 and to figure out how to get another dirrect connection with my old cpu from my new laptop so i can pull all that music onto my new laptop

May I make an alternative suggestion to your direct connect dilemma, rather than trying to exchange/copy files using two computers and one wifi modem why not connect the computers using a serial cable and use a utility like Laplink.

You will find it much easier than what you are trying to do and all your files will copy across in minutes.

Here is the URL: LaplinkĀ® Software - PCmover - Overview

As for sharing your files with the P2P community, I suggest that you update your Java installation, on your old PC, to one of the later versions, i.e. V1.5.11 upwards. You may also need to update your LW as well but I suggest you put LW Basic (the free version) on your old PC.
