![]() I was curious to find out how many ****** **** season 2's were availble using Limewire. Performing a 'video' search results in nothing. Lot's and lot's of ****, but nothing for seasons 2, 3, or 4. Is that wierd? It is one of the most popular television shows on the planet. My question is, is there a way to change what servers I'm actually searching on? Or, is there just one, all encompassing search feature? Now, on the other hand, if I use emule, there are hundreds, if not thousands of search results. Why is that? __________________________________________________ Edited to comply with the House Rules. Also, bob, I'd venture to guess that most p2p users don't know anything else about the process than install limewire, emule, edonkey, kazaa, napster, etc. etc. etc. and get stuff. Period. So by now, bob, I haven't figured out anything concerning my question and your post provided absolutely no assistance. Thank you. Again, the question: How can emule result in lots of returns for movie "x" and limewire returns nothing, nada, silch for the same movie "x", especially when it is an extremely popular show? This isn't a one time search request either. I've been testing this for over 3 months on both programs. |

![]() ???? this is obviously spam for emule....you are obviously a 'plant' who knows more than you admit/portray... since you so obviously love emule, keep using it and shut that fat ugly hole in your face...

![]() Peerless, first of all, thank you for making this such a nice place to visit for limewire users to come and seek information, or heaven forbid asssistance to questions they have. It's really appreciated... I"m sure. Yes I use to use emule. I also used Kazaa and now I use Limewire. I think limewire's interface is more user friendly is why. My neighbor uses emule currently and it's on his computer that I've been testing my queries on. I could not find the files I wanted with limewire so I asked if I could use his emule to see if there were any available on that platform. When running emule at his house, I got a lot of hits/results. I was/am simply posing a question as to why that is. And/or perhaps I'm not using all of limewire's abilities correctly. How is this "spam for emule"? It's a question. How exactly am I a "plant for emule knowing more than I portrait"? When in fact I'm actually asking questions not giving answers. Anger much? I'm so happy I decided to ask the limewire forum community for insight. You've made it truely hospitable and much appreciated. Thank you for contributing to the thread I've begun. Wait a minute, what exactly have you contributed? Umm, I don't "get it." Why'd you post in the first place? ![]() |

![]() BTW, I have tried to get results for about 3 months now for a certain show and amazingly after beginning this thread, this morning I found hits! AND THEY'RE DOWNLOADING! Wierd. I've browsed many of the threads in this forum and the best advice is always given. After searching, right click on one of the results that look promising and then click on 'advanced options' (I think that's the option), and then click on 'look up with bitzi'. I truely believe this method elliminates a lot of the fake files out there. It's a great feature. Now, back to my original question, maybe I didn't make myself clear... I'm a long time user of p2p software, not necessarily limewire specifically. When I run a search and pick a result to DL, and it begins DL'ing. All is good. Then I assume the host turns off his computer, or shuts down LW, or something else happens to the connection and it sits in "awaiting sources" or "needs more sources" status for a long time at say 27% complete, is there a way to find another host/server/whatever to continue the DL? Or, do I have to perform the search all over and begin a brand new download. My other thinking is that I can right click on the partially completed file and click the "find more sources" options. I've tried it, but never to a positive result. What actually happens when you perform this task? Anyone actually know? tia |

![]() OK S Let's see if I can answer your questions, you asked: Quote:
a) repeat your search. b) search for the specific named file. (Sorry, I'm at work at the moment and so cannot attach a screen print of this "search again" facility.) I have used this facility and it has worked, i.e. searched again and found the file I wanted and started to download from where the previous download stopped. However, like all search facilities there is no guarantee that it will find that file you are after. You next question: Quote:
As you can see, your initial query (search for files) could reach 8,000 other computers, so a "Find More Sources" request could potentially reach another 8,000 or so computers by substituting the original starting point IP with another one. However, to be certain you should put your question to the programmers at the LimeWire Beta Forum Bugs and Beta Testing - LimeWire Forums UK Bob |
