I lost Pro
 

I had Pro, I paid for 2 updates, now it tells me I dont have Pro, and my email isnt valid. So far I've paid for the original Pro, and another update, now I did the update and I no longer have Pro. I thought it was a 1 time payment. I dont understand this at all.

depends on how long you had it if you payed for the six month subscription you get free updates for 6 months you can keep that pro as long as you like but when you try to get the latest version that is after the 6 months is up and if you didn't save the pro installer on an external drive you'll have to pay again.

Well I must say, I had no idea. Thanks for your very prompt reply, I appreciate it. I originally got Pro in 2005, then I paid yet more money for an upgrade (which seemed exactly the same) and now it tell me to upgrade and I lose Pro? That constitutes a rip off in my book. Supposedly it was a one time fee, for which I have paid twice. Now, in order to get Pro, and turbo charged connection, I have to pay again? Something isnt right here. I even tried to email them and they told me my email for Pro was invalid. This isn't right. Thanks again, michwayne.

Oh, can I re-download the limewire from 2006, which is still in my windows? I think, lol.

I just downloaded the new Limewire upgrade and lost Limewire Pro....so pissed off and ripped off....am not paying again. But people should know about this...they tell you Limewire Pro is yours once you pay the initial fee...but it is not...it does not provide upgrades....ggrrrrrr!!!

I have to say, thats really not fair, it's a major ripoff, I paid twice already for Pro, and lost it because of an upgrade? What kind of crap is that. I want a refund or a free update to pro. DONT GET THE UPGRADE EVERYONE.

When you get the upgrade message, say no. Go to your personal Pro download page & download the update. The message they give applies to both pro & basic users but if you click the update option it will give you Basic. So ... I highly advise to BOOKMARK your personal pro download page for easy & fast access. Also it will show if you are within your last month of pro support & offer you a small discount for continuing.

IMHO ... yes the forum helpers here have let their thoughts be known to the LW team. We also think it's misleading & it's resulted in people making mistakes & thinking they were ripped off. Their approach could have been greatly improved to save so many headaches & mistakes by users.

yes well too late now I already downloaded the upgrade and went back to basic...so much for the money I spent getting Pro and I'll be damned if I'll pay again. Once bitten......
I think LW has done itself out of a lot of paying customers by this method of upgrading...those that have paid for Pro should be able to download upgrades as they occur without losing Pro.
