"Trying ... hosts"

Hello. First post, hope it is ok.

I am a new user to LimeWire Pro. I have a laptop running windows XP and use a cable modem to connect. As I use a laptop, my connection is wirelessly through a card. Anyway, on with my problem / question.

I have noticed that sometimes when I search an item, there can be as many as 50 hosts showing under one given result. I will highlight the item, click download, and get the usual connecting message. Then, if it does not connect right away (usually the case for some reason) it starts stating that "Hosts tried..." and counts up untill the full number has been reached. My question is this: 1) what does this mean, and 2) If there are 50 hosts for a particular item, why am I not able to connect to at least one of them?

Thank you for any feedback.

There are lots of fake files on the network. They often show up with lots of sources, but will sit connecting for ages & then always need more sources. Check out the threads below for more info & tips. Check files before download with Bitzi;)
