Default newbie with issues connecting (videos download, songs don't)

never used a forum. don't know if this is the right place or format, but here it goes....1. OS version? XP PRO
2. What firewalls you have? COMODO FIREWALL
3. How much ram? LOTS
4. Hard Disk space available? 45 GIG
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) SBC DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? LINKSYS
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? HOME
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 4.14
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? SBC YAHOO
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? TEST WORKED
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. NO
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. HAVE USED IN THE PAST W/O ISSUES. GOT THE "CID" BAD VOODO WITH ALL KINDS OF POP-UPS, SO INSTALLED COMOPDO FIREWALL AND MORE OF THEIR STUFF. WORKED OK YESTERDAY WITH A DOWNLOAD, NO LUCK TODAY. FIREWALL DETECTED, (WALL ON BOTTOM OF PAGE), HAVE REMOVED, RE-INSTALLED, ETC., STARTING TO GET MORE "CID" STUFF. RE-INSTALLED ALL, STILL CAN'T DOWNLOAD SONGS- SAY POLLING MORE USERS, NO LUCK. CAN DOWNLOAD VIDEO CLIPS!!

15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). USA

These are all contained within the sticky Connection problems? Check here first! but possibly some people are getting a bit confused or lost when we direct them to this sticky & ask them to provide their details.

First of all, I think you should get this CID adware off your system I'm not sure whether Ad-Aware will remove it, you're probably best to go to a specialised help site. Here are some good ones.

If your LW connection's ok & you can download movies without a problem, you're probably seeing fake music files. There are heaps of fakes being shared & these will sit connecting for ages & then need sources forever. There's more info & tips in the threads below.

How to find music

Click on the Connections tab in LW, right click on the ultrapeers that you're connected to > remove. LW will find new ones & that can change the search results that you see.

Are you sure that Comodo's allowing LW access? Here are some config tips.
