Are you downloading from faster sources (cable/dsl, T1, T3) or modem sources...modem will be slow. What's your speed (do a speed test & tell us the result)? Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test Download a file from here & see what download speed you get. + MagnetMix.com +: The Source for Good Content Who is your ISP? |

Just started using Limewire pro just a few days ago and I must say I am not impressed with the download speeds at all. I am a former Bearshare/Bearflix Pro user and while the search results have significantly gotten worse in the past several months, the download speeds are tremenously more impressive than limewire. I get fantastic search results with Limewire, but my download speeds as indicated by the bottom toolbar are only 20 to 30 kb/s with my average download only going 10kb/s or less. With bearshare I was experiencing connections of anywhere between 200 and 500 kb/s and often times higher than that. I am connected through DSL and Router. I have my port forwarding enabled and no firewall and all the other tips and tricks, but I still get really slow downloads. I went to test my download speed and it was testing at about 350kb/s. Now why cant I do that with Limewire? |
