Default "Need more sources"

Hello, first post, because until now Limewire has been mostly good to me. First off, I'm using a Dell Dimension 4600, Windows XP with DSL. I used to be able to download on dial-up, although reaaaaal slow. For the first couple weeks DSL was working great with Limewire, but now everything says "needs more sources" except songs by ******. I've tried downloading hundreds of times, all with the same results, except ******. What's up with this? I can give more information if needed, but I don't know all too much about computers. I DO have the firewall symbol and am not sure how to turn it off. I have symantec antivirus, and probably some Windows thing, but don't know how to let Limewire through if that is the problem. On dialup I would sometimes get "need more sources", but within the last month every song does this.

Sounds like you might be seeing fake files

If you're searching for music files, use the All Types search & search for artist or album rather than song title. Go for a file with 10 sources or less...stay away from the files with huge numbers of sources.
If you're searching for video files, always chech the file with Bitzi before download. If a movie has heaps of sources but no Bitzi rating, chances are it's a fake.

Check out the threads below for more info & tips, including how to use Bitzi.

How to find music

You could try deleting LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. This has worked for people when absolutely everything needs more sources...it won't hurt to give it a try.
See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.

Didn't work. Everything says needs more sources, even the stuff from magnetmix.com. I don't understand what could be wrong. I also couldn't find the preferences folder, I looked under Limewire in program files, where else could it be?

UPDATE:
I clicked "download as" on accident, and realized the songs were downloading to some other folder than my music. As long as I put them there they are working. YAY
