Download fails after certain amount of files downloaded

I downloaded limewire a while back, and at the start any music file i searched for, i could easily download. Some files may not work, but generally, after trying a few, at least one would work.

Then after downloading about say 20 songs, no matter what songs i search for, and how many results pop up, none of them will connect.

I stopped using limewire. A few months later, an update comes out. I get the update, and everything works again. After 24 songs, the same problem occurs.

Is there like an imposed limit on how much you can download per upload? So like i have to upload something before i can download again? At first it'll say 'connecting...' then it'll either go to 'Need More Sources' or 'Connecting (xx hosts tried)...' And that'll happen no matter how many songs i try. So if the search returned 100 results, and i try to get all 100 results, none of them will succeed.

I'm certainly aware of the existence of fake files, but when i get ~20/24 working downloads in a row and then nothing after it works, according to my logic, it just doesn't add up to just call them all fake. Also A song that failed with the previous copy of limewire worked perfectly in the first try of the limewire update reinstall.

Hmmm, it definatley sounds strange...You are also right about the fake files...
When this starts to happen try getting some new Ultrapeers...

Go to your Connections Tab in limewire, if it's not showing up go to Veiw > Show/Hide and make sure the connection tab has a tick next to it...
Then click on the Hosts and remove them and let Limewire search for some more...

Thanks for the advice, i'll try it out later when i get back. If it's me just having this problem, it might either be my PC, or even more likely my ISP perhaps.

I have a feeling they got some software bumming around that's limiting certain downloads. I could be wrong because there are still some inconsistencies.
