Are you connected to the network? How many green or blue bars do you have in the bottom left corner? Do you see the brickwall in front of the globe icon?

Try the suggestions in this thread: Problems with the search

I have the same problem!

Hi 6_pac and Jeff,

I'm Bec and I have just downloaded LM on my fiances laptop. I had LM at my parents place and it seemed to work fine but I manow having the same problems as Jeff. Below are my details:

1: I am running Windows XP
2: I have firewalls active but have made sure that LM is an exception.
3: Unsure how much ram
4: Unsure of hard disk space available.
5: Broadband
6: Modem is a virgin broadband modem. Unsure of router brand name and model.
7: I'm trying to connect from home
8: LM version 4.14.10. Java version 1.5.0_11.
9: My ISP is Virgin Broadband
10: When I go to the link it states cannot find server.
11: I am not sharing a connection with other computers
12: It is not the first time I have used LW but I wouldn't say I'm experiences either.
13: Yes I do see the brick wall.
14: Unsure what port forwarding or UPnP is!
15: Windows does not currently detect a security program.
16: I amliving in Australia.

I hope this infomration can help a bit. I really enjoy using LW and will be a bit bummed if I can't use it on this computer because there is no access to my parents one - they diconnected the net as soon as i left.

Thanks in advance for your help

@ Funky,

You should only be running one firewall on your system, more than that will interfere with each other and cause problems. Shut them all down except one and make sure LW is allowed through it.

Most routers also have an internal firewall in them that'll need configured(portforwarded). Try and find out the make and model of yours. It's the box your phone line/cable plugs into before going into your computer.
