Unhappy Help LimeWire isn't really user friendly - Windows XP

First I am having trouble getting additional sources. The message that I get is waiting for stable connection. Secondly if I try to cancel download and exit out of Lime Wire when I re-open the website the cancelled download re-appears. Thirdly as I perform new searches I recieve a message that Limewire is already connected to my network and I may not recieve a list until I am fully connected. All of this happen after I was in the middle of a download and i had to leave for a few hours. Upon my return I notic that my laptop had shut off due to low battery. Once I charged the battery and reconnected I have been facing the three problems described. Limewire is the only website that I am having problems with.

LimeWire does not use a website for sharing. It's the gnutella network, & the files you see in searches are shared by people like yourself. That's why it's called a peer to peer network ... from one user to another.

When you cancel a download from the download window, you should also delete it from the incomplete folder in the Library window.

Go to Tools>Options>Advanced>Performance & disable all options you see there.
Check your speed settings. Make sure your speed settings are not greater than your abilities.

Go to Tools>Options>Connections & disable connect on start up. Then after opening LW each time, wait a few mins, then go to File menu & choose connect.

Don't use Resume/Find Sources on all your incomplete files. Otherwise you will stress your system & set up. That's probably why you are losing connection & crashing, etc. Try not to download too many files at one time. LW is a heavy weig ht program, & laptops are light weig ht computers.
