If you are going to be burning it to cd, then it will become a vcd/svcd. If you burnt it as svcd, not all dvd players can play them. Also, not all dvd players can play RW disks be they cd or dvd. Also some dvd players are specific to dvd+ or dvd- (though most newer ones will play both.)
Having a decent burner program is a good start. For tips about burning videos, the best section to see about that is http://www.gnutellaforums.com/tips-tricks/ where it's been discussed many times.

if the file is in .mpg format, then you might as well just use a CD and burn it as its appropriate format (VCD or SVCD according to the type of .mpg file)...if its .avi then DVD is the way to go...damn, must be an awful special tune to want to forgo just watching on the computer!

Peerless Lord thank you both for your information. I have been able to create a play (burn) list using WMP however, now my computer does not recognize any kind of CD at all. It had been working fine. I insert a CD but I still get a msg saying "Insert CD" I try to "run" E drive... same msg....... "My Computer" shows the CD Icon and when I try to open it.... again I get the same message. Any Ideas as to why all of a sudden my drive has quit working ? Thanks again...
