Default strange:many hosts, but "need more sources"

I've been using Limewire with great success for over a year now. Vista, wireless DSL connection, no firewall issues, everything normally works perfect.

But last night, I ran a search for a particular song and found a huge (60+)number of returns with many hosts available...(each ranging from 2-64 hosts). These were lightning fast returns with normal file sizes also.

The trouble began when I tried to download ANY of these returns. Limewire dutifully tried each and every host before saying "Need more sources".

Where it REALLY becomes interesting is that trying other songs by the same artist most have no problems downloading at all. I can only surmise that Limewire is working properly for most songs, just not this one in particular.

In addition, the information box that usually appears when moving the cursor over a title is absent in every case.

Anyone with an insight on this problem? If these are all fake files I would like to know how to search for the real thing.

Sounds like your trying to download a new or popular song. I don't know how it works, but basically if you see the song your looking for and there's a bunch of'em all with at least 20-100+ sources and they are the same file size (or two file sizes) and the same duration, chances are if you download one and it doesn't work, the rest of'em won't. What you have to do is try searching for just the song and not the artist. You get significantly less results and generally only 3 choices with almost no sources (sometimes you will get nothing or just results of stuff your not looking for), so it'll take me like 20 mins. to get the song, but it's usually the real thing. The other thing to do is look on the list for the ones with a different file size. They usually are at the bottom of the list with like 5 sources. Not saying songs can't have tons of sources, but they tend to get lost in all the fakes. Hope that helps.
