Full Clip | November 25th, 2007 05:47 AM | 1 Kb/s downloads.......help me!! Hi, I had a bit of hassle with firewall, but sorted that out...to an extent!!! I now have a Turbo Charged connection downloading at 1kb a sec....can't seem to speed it up, have tried different settings - modem, dsl, T1 etc makes no difference. any help or suggestions ?? nice one gary - Windows Vista Home Basics
- McAfee firewalls
- 1 gig of ram
- About 20 gig of 80 gig HD space available
- Broadband connection
- Modem is NextNet, Wireless Inc. I have lost numbers
- Connecting from my home
- LW 4.14.10 Pro, Java 1.6.0_3(I installed that yesterday)
- My ISP is Clearwire – Ireland
- “My test Worked”…woohoo
- Not sharing with any other computers etc
- this is my first time
- There is a brick wall
- I honestly don’t have a clue about modem/router or UPnP
- I’m running McAfee, came with the laptop, and windows protector
- I’m living in Ireland

| Clearwire are known to throttle p2p bandwidth. Clearwire Broadband - Page 2 - boards.ie Clearwire : Usage Policy
You could try changing LW's listening port (tools > options > advanced > firewall config) to 64049 > apply > ok. Or try other ports in the range of 49152 - 65535. |
