![]() Hello guys, i am getting rather slow download speeds in Limewire Pro, even tho i have quite a fast internet connect (5.75mbp download speed) My question is, do i need to port forward my (Belkin F5D7632UK4A) modem/router??????????? I have a full turbo charged connection within limewire & there is no BRICK WALL blocking me either... so is it still neccasary for me to port forward? i have also disabled the firewall within my Belkin modem/router & windows firewall is also turned off... so why the slow download speeds? the listening port in limewire is set at (17457) would changing this port number make any difference???? just incase my ISP are blocking me? plz advice me on this matter! thanx |

![]() Thankyou for the reply Remoc! I am glad i don't have to port forward, coz it all seems abit daunting! I am still having trouble understanding why my speeds are this slow, i have Java Runtime 5.0 update 11 which i've been told is a good version to run with limewire! i have also configured limewire, in order to get maximum speeds & according to ur advice, i don't need to portforward, so my modem/router isn't the problem... There could be a small possibilty that my new ISP is blocking me, but they have assured me, that they do not shape p2p traffic (fast.co.uk) what should the listening port in limewire be set at????? currently it is at (17457) and UpNp is enabled.... could changing the listening port, sort out my speed issue???? thanx for any advice! |

![]() I don't think changing the listening port will help. It allows other computers to connect with you. Try this. Go to Tools > Options > Speed > Set to T3 or higher. Apply OK. This will let you connect to more Hosts. 14 I believe. If you have Pro, not sure how many with Basic. |
