Default Windows XP Firewall issues

Hi, I am new to this forum, Hopefully I am in the right forum here. Ok, I have Westall 6100 modum. I went in and put a port range for Lime wire. Downloads are big time slow. I then went into my control panal and put lime wire in my ports there, using the number 6346. I found this number on the net. MY firewall is completly down, along with my Mcafee personal fire wall. Lime wire is still telling me it has a fire wall, and I do not understand this. Since I went into open all the ports and went to the extent off following all directions I could find. I even went into lime wire options as well, trying to set things there, but I do not know if they are really set. I am to the point now where I am going to remove lime wire and re-download it or configure it to its original setting.
I love Limewire. But right now, it goes like 35 if lucky but only downloads 1 at a time. But download speed is only like 5
Can anyone help me? Greatly appreciated

Yes, I have. But I can not find my global settings. Now, I could not leave it at "0" so I put the number 6346 in its place??? Does this make a difference? The port is open along with the connection properties as well. Lime wire is still showing a firewall up? TCP/UDP I put in the number 6346 in the TCP/UDP as well

Sorry, I have never had to Port Forward so I'm not 100%. See the thread below for more info. Hope this helps.

It talks about the Global Settings and Port settings

Hi there! I GOT IT WORKING! here is what I did for those who have firewall problems with Westall 6100 I went into my options in Limewire.. And looked up the number 16080 in advance section under firewall config. I then went into my modom which is 192.168.1.1 Also user name is admin Password is NOT "PASSWORD" at least not on mine it is "admin"
svae that incase you have to go back into it.. I then went into netwroks right click my networks property Put in my IP# and the clicked on TCP and second UDP using the same portal number 16080 I rebooted and then I turned on Limewire and it is clear! No firewall! what a chore so I am a computer dummy here. If I can do it so will you!
