filters not working

I can't seem to block an IP address and no matter how I enter the address it just wont save?I want to filter out all the freeloaders any clues?

ukbobboy01 December 29th, 2007 04:30 PM

Yeah, how do you identify freeloaders?

Bernie mcc December 30th, 2007 03:45 PM

Yeah???

AS this is NOT a chat site I was expecting an answer to my question.
Maybe you have not read about "Freeloaders" in Limewire or you wouldn't ask questions with the attitude it exudes.
A "feeloader" is anyone who will not share files but is more than happy to extract yours.
Is that clear enough for you UK Bob?
Now anyone with a REAL answer Please respond
Thanks for taking the time to Write though UK Bob?

I see you have made two simple mistakes:-

a) As you said, I asked the question:
Quote:

How do you identify freeloaders?
I did NOT asked "What is a freeloader?"

b) You said:
Quote:

AS this is NOT a chat site
Whoever told you that, this a FORUM and people have chats here all the time. Maybe if you took the time to read a few posts you will see that people do discuss things.

Now let me make things a little clearer for you, most experienced Limewire users know that you cannot identify "freeloaders" in Limewire and there is no facility to filter "them out".

So let me ask again:

How do YOU identify freeloaders?

Is that clear enough for you?

The simple answer?

STROOTH!!! Ive almost forgotten the original question??
Hmmmm? OH? yes....Can't block IP numbers (even though there is provision for this in Limewire) simple question is "why"? simple answer? not by the looks eh?
It should matter little to anyone as to WHY I want to block an IP? The fact I can't is the REAL problem.
I came here to post a question and with luck get an answer, thats it! I don't do ASL hows the weather chat etc.
Thanks for being so "Perry Mason" in your explanation of my error? add a flow chart & graphs next time though eh?
Pity there was not this much effort into just answering the question but I spose this IS a chat site after all??
One more thanks UK...I now have another reason to block an IP

Simple answer, try the forum where the Limewire programmers go, not one where people meet to exchange ideas:-

after all that??

Following all the prompts to find a solution to what started out as a small problem, I was taken to this "chat site" that should have been Tech support (limewire)Posted a simple question and get the 3rd degree by someone more interested in MY biz than an answer.Perhaps UK, you would be best to just mind your own biz if you are not experienced enough to answer questions such as mine!It may also help you to view all the sections within Limewire due to your lack of knowledge on IP blocking....yes UK it does have a section on this and mine does not work..............hang on a mo??? Im back to the start again?? am I going round in circles or is it just UK bob?No matter, I've wasted too much time with this "chat rubbish"good luck with reading LimewireUnsubscribing now

Interested in your biz????, you really think a lot of yourself.

Good bye, you'll not be missed.
