Did you add your folders for sharing?? Did you make sure to click 'select' whenever the prompt showed & also to click 'Apply' to save any changes??

If you want to add a folder for sharing, follow the directions below...in my screenshots, my shared folder is C:\Documents and Settings\my name\Shared. This was the way it used to be in older versions of LW, and the shared folder was also the saved folder (I find it easier to have the saved folder & shared folder in the same place). I've just changed my save & shared folders back to what they used to be in earlier versions, so please don't get confused by that:)


First of all, find your shared folder. In LW, tools > options > sharing. Once that options screen is up, click on Add.

When you click on Add, you'll be able to browse for the folders that you want to add to share. So you'll need to find out where songs are located (what folder they're in) on your computer. Your computer's search can help you there.
Just for example I'm going to add a folder called 'unshared'...so I have to go & find it, using the browse option to browse thru my computer . When I've found the folder that I want to add, I need to click 'Select'.

After you click 'Select', you'll go back to LW's sharing options screen & your folder will show up as shared. Make sure that there's a tick in the box next to the folder you've added for sharing. Click 'Apply' & then click 'OK'.

When you've done that, LW's options screen will close. Now go to LW's library, click on Shared Files...your folder to share should show up.

Also, if you click on the 'view my shared files' on LW's search page, just above the connection status...you should see that there are more shared files there than there were before (I had 415 before I added the new folder, now I have 629):)

I hope you don't mind me hijacking the thread, But I had the old limewire, that was fine, but then i downloaded the newest version out and now all my old downloads are there in my shared but whenever i download a new song the new ones don't show up anywhere!! :( Help?

In LW go tools > options > saving...that will show you where your saved files are going:) If you want to change the location of your saved folder, you can do that from within tools > options > saving. Just remember to click on Apply to save any changes!

If you go to LW's library, click on Saved Files & then click Explore the saved folder should open.
