Progress meter at a standstill

Hi Everyone! I have just joined the forum!

Problem i am currently having at the moment is, when i am downloading larger files (700mb), my progress meter get's to a point of around 12% or 22%, and thats it! This is about as far is it will go, even though my connection speed is at the highest for hour's! Do i have a bug or virus?
I have had limewire for 3 years, and this is the first time i have had a problem.Please hlep!! It would be much appreciated!! ( I am using Broadband)
