They either grabbed it off a CD & put it into a share folder for others to upload from them or else, they bought the song from an online site or else, they downloaded it from someone else, or from another share network. Another way to get it is to buy it. |

'Need more sources' message Hey dudes! I'm not new to LW and am addicted however I too get this message. I'm from australia and was wondering if there was any way of letting the user know you're trying to download from that their file is being downloaded so you don't lose the connection. I too have been waiting what seems forever for a particular song and I have tried at all hours of the day. Would love some advice! Blonkie Last edited by Blonkie; January 31st, 2008 at 04:32 AM. |

You can try sending a message to them via LW. Problem though is it's not reliable. If their LW is super busy. Also, often people leave LW running whilst at work in the background or overnight & don't see the message until it's gone stale. But it's worth a try. |

Hey LOTR Thanks for the reply but is there a way that maybe the file that you're trying to download is shaded in a different colour to let you know that the source isn't connected so you're not wasting time trying to download things for weeks on end?? It's frustrating especially if people are in different time zones. Thanks for the advice n e ways. Will try and source how to send messages via LW. Blonkie |

No. Best thing is to re-search the file. If it shows up then the person is online. Follow what I suggested above. Can also use the Advanced search of Get MOre Results by right-clicking the search tab & choosing that option. BTW some gnutella users such as Shareaza users will not always have the gnutella network turned on. They can be difficult to connect to anyway because they often have multiple networks working at same time which take up all their bandwidth. I've also noticed users, particularly ShareAza users having dynamic ip's & they don't return to the one they had when I first started downlding the file for some weeks. |

Hey LOTR So basically you're saying is just to be online 24/7. That's ok. You mentioned emailing users - how? Is this something that can only be done when they are online?? Brings us back to square 1. LOL I'll just keep persisting and hopefully get my source back (I'm up to 89% - can't quit now). If not, I'll just pay $298 (US) for the cd from the Zon. thanks for the help. Blonkie |

PS LOTR why is it that the songs show on your listings then you aren't able to download them. If you say you can only search for files when the user is online, then shouldn't you be able to download that file?? Begs the question Blonkie |
