Angry Unwanted files won't delete

Some files that i don't want i can't seem to delete. I get the message that "they may be in use by another application or are currently being downloaded to". i have tried some of the advice in the forum but it has not worked. I have closed anything i can think of that may be using it, but it still won't delete. Can anybody tell me how to delete the files i don't want.PLEASE!

Hello. This is my first visit and I'm here for the same reason as newuser75. I downloaded a file, then realised it's not what I wanted. Tried several times to delete it or move it to the recycle bin, without success. Each time, I get a message saying it cannot be deleted because it is in use, etc. I have also tried deleting it by going into the shared files on my system, without success. The more it resists my attempts, the more suspicious I am of this file. It's starting to scare me now! Any advice or info on what's happening would be much appreciated.

Default Success!

i followed the link supplied by Remoc and tried one of the options that worked for another poster (a nasty fellow who was downloading child porn - lol) agonizing over a similar problem of undeletable files. the program is called "unlocker" and it worked quickly to remove the file without anything else needing to be done. so, newuser75, it might work for you too. and Remoc, thanks a million. you have no idea how worried i was - wondering what kind of trouble i'd downloaded! i had no idea how useful this forum would be (wasn't expecting much help, really), but i'm ever so grateful for your advice.
