Search problemS!! HELP!!
 

Hi...

Ive been using LimeWIre for the past 6 months... but now all of a sudden, everytime I search for something, in the Audio or Video category, I dont get any results. Im a rock fan, so i keep downloading S**p*n** material. 2 3 weeks back, if I searched for "S**p*n**", i would get hell of alot of results. But now I dont get a single result. Ive tried searching in all sections, and for all sorts of things. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting. I tried restarting my computer.
About 2 days back I upgraded my limewire to the limewire 4.16.6 and for these 2 days it was working fine, i got all the results for my searches. But again today its back to the usual. I didnt get any results today. Ive tried restarting my computer as well twice, and did everything i could, but i get no results for my searches. :confused::confused::confused:
But the stuff that I was downloading, kept downloading. Its just the search thats gone all wonky!! HELLLP!! im a girl, so these stuff r really like rocketscience to me!

Is there a difference in your Connection when you're having trouble with searches?? Do the Connection Bars ever change?? Does this only happen a certain times of the day??

no there is no difference in my connection. I use Wifi, but i dont think thats the problem... actually come to think of it, are u talking about the bars on the left down? ontop of the start bar? actually yeah, only one bar was green yesterday.... and it was yesterday that the search results stopped appearing again...... but that is weird because as soon as I upgraded to limewire 4.16.6, it worked for 2 days straight... and no, its all day... not a particular time... just all day.....

The same happened to me. I suppose some files that are downloaded influence somehow Limewire and make it almost unusable. I cleaned my registry with the registry buster and got rid of the spyware with the Spybot S&D and LimeWire iis getting some search results again.

Yeap, I'm interested in smoky eyes... But, let's work on the problem(s). Basicaly, you need a clean registry on your computer and no spy ware. You clean the registry with one program (application) and another program for getting rid of the spyware. You clean the registry with Registry booster 2 (which you can buy over the internet, or with some similar program that might be free). To get rid of spyware you will need one or more Spyware cleaners... I am using Spybot Search & Destroy. I thing it is free. You can get similar spware cleaners, but be careful because you might install some malicious programs that represent themselves as spyware cleaners.

Not coming on all heavy here, but, please everybody...

Understand that the free versions of so-called 'protection' software is never adequate... Yes, I said, "Never."
This is just as true for the free versions of the big-name programs.

This is especially true for the spyware/data miner detection/removal programs.

Get the real thing.
Unfortuanately it is rarely possible to evaluate the quality/efficacy of the 'Pro' versions by using the 'trial' stuff...

Also, beware of magazine reviews and recommendations and the numerous so-called test/comparison sites that are on the internet...
There's not a lot of hard core truth floating around out there.

And, as mentioned above and elsewhere, do NOT run more than one firewall application... But, when you want to try to detect and remove 'spyware', use two or three different apps... No probs ! (Normally, Ha Ha Ha.)

im still confused tho. but... i put the little knowledge i know about computers to work.. and i completelly uninstalled limewire.. and just downloaded it all over again.. and it seemed to work!!
scared that it might stop working again... all the songs ive ever wanted to download in my life, im downloading them now... lol ..... hehehe...

I've experienced the same problems. I've been searching for what used to be really popular things, music and vids, but now absolutely nothing is being found. I'll try the remove/reboot option and get back to you.
