update messed up ability to have limewire

ok, so i downloaded limewire and it worked amazingly. well my sister went to download some songs and it said that she needed to update the limewire and she tried and it closed limewire to the extent that she couldnt open limewire. we tried to uninstall it and redownload it and it wouldnt uninstall, it said the uninstall document thing was not there and then today she tried to redownload and it said "corruption" what happened and what can we do to fix it?
