what ever format i download in i cannot watch any films. it opens up windows media player and will not play. i tried downloading codec pack but that wont work.
help!!!

Well, that goes to show what a piece of Crap WMP is. Try an alternitive Media Player. See Link Below.

First try VLC Media Player to see if that makes a difference. See Link below

This is how you set VLC Media as the default player.
Go to shared folder Outside of Limewire. Right click a file then Open With. Now choose VLC and place check where it says Always Open... then OK.

IMO AVI's are the best video file format on LW. Also use Bitzi to check quality of file.

This is how it works. After you have completed your search, Right click on the file that you're interested in. Now go to Advanced > Lookup File With Bitzi. Left click on that and a new browser window will open which is Bitzi. Now you will see how other members have rated this file. If you see something like "Bitprint not found" then Leave it alone. Its probably a Fake or Corrupt File. If it has been Rated then you can read what or how the members feel about the file.
