Thumbs down UNABLE TO SUSTAIN DOWNLOADS...help me!

idk. this new version of limewire has been nothing but problems for me. at first the sharing system hid everything for some stupid reason. and now its really annoying to download something...it starts, downloads at full speed (which is around 20-30 kb/s which sucks!) for about 2 seconds. THEN the download speed falls rapidly till it reaches 0 and stops downloading...what the heck is wrong with it?

Had the same problem, plus after all the downloads had dropped to zero my internet connection was still busy, and my hard drive was going nuts.

After a few program restarts & a reboot or two I let it run to see what would happen (after I made sure my spyware/antivirus was up to date). After about 3-5 min everything went back to normal. I've done a spyware & virus scan, with nothing found.

I also went through the options and turned off the ultrapeer stuff, cancelled all current downloads, cleaned out the "incomplete" folder, then tried some new searches and downloads.

Not sure which one did the trick, but after all of that it seems to be normal again. I'm keeping a close eye on it and watching for any suspicios stuff on the computer.

hope it helps,

keyLime Pie

Default Unable to sustain downloads

I have a slightly different problem. After downloading for days I finally approached the completion of several downloads. Suddenly limewire went off (probably the ISP wasn't responding) and when I logged back in I suddenly had a list of downloads that I was using weeks ago.
I always download to a separate external harddrive and the downloads I want are in the incomplete file but how can I get them back into Limewire at the download level they were at before Limewire shut off?
This is probably a very basic problem but any help you can give a new boy will be greatly appreciated.
