So confused....it's not a codec problem so now what?? Ok, so I have been using limewire for a while now and have gotten familiar with, and able to resolve most of the problems I have with it. But right now I am "stumped"! I was downloading a avi file, I checked it out half way through the process and I had pic and sound but once the file completed I had sound but no picture. Never had this problem before. I downloaded xp coedec 2.3.6 and still nothing. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? XP DSL WMP |

You say that it is NOT a Codec problem... Why do you assume that ? Please try the Cole2k Codecs which you can find by clicking on the link of same name in my signature below. Be sure to choose only the Standard pack and perform the easy installation. After installing, shutdown your computer and start it again. Also, you imply that you are having a problem with only one .avi file... Is this the case ? You say that it is NOT a Codec problem... Why do you assume that ? While doing 'previews' of audio files normally presents no problems, there are 1,000s and 1,000s of examples of people who manage to preview a video file during the download only to find problems after the D/L has completed. Normal advice is to not preview video files.

I say it's not a codec problem from previous threads I read that said to download the xp codec. So since that didn't work, I assumed that it wasn't that. And yes that is right, its one avi file, actually 2, the only 2. And I never heard not to check the file as its downloading, I thought that is what you do so you don't get any of the b.s thats out there previewing always saved me a lot of wasted time. But I tried the Cole2K and its still not working. Do you have any other advice for this problem, otherwise I'm just gonna call it one on that file. |
