Corrupt Files
 

What r corrupt files, lately I have been getting a lot of those. And if Limewire detected it why not mark it as junk. Another problem I've been having is that apparently a file is downloading but there's no progress. Does it mean that some users have a virus or am I the one with the virus.

If your trying to download some thing and it do's not download for a few days than most likely it's a Fake file and is just there on the network.Corrupt files means that they probley do have a have virus but all so means it's a bad file.Where you trying to download zip file's if you where i would stay a way.You never know what your going to get from a zip file.

Been having a lot of problems with LW version 4.16.6 (Corrupt files, connection problems, etc.)

I've heard that previous versions are better. What's the best version and how can I get it?

4.12 or earlier seem to be good. Though nothing below 4.0.8 should be used now.

I have been getting a lot of files that don't play. Also a lot of my searches only return those 5611 an 3462 sized files. All since downloading the 4.18 version. Is their something wrong?
If I install an older version will this help?
May be I should just try it and see.

I would say Yes to the Older Version or even Try Phex. D/L from my Sig.

I Don't and will Not use LW any longer for reasons that you are experiancing. The Later versions are nothing but Trouble.
I will suggest you use an older version that has proved to be the most stable versions ever. 4.12.6. or 4.12.3

OldVersion - Newer isn't always better !

Or as I said above, try Phex.

I am having good luck with V. 4.18.5.1. However, sometimes it takes a while to connect. My only question is; With all of the technology in the world, How is it possible for corrupt files to make it thru?

Well technology doesn't really apply to much if you understand what P2P on the Gnutella Network is all about.
Peer 2 Peer means you are actually Sharing what might be in anyones Shared Folder.
There is NO Central Server, So basically Anyone on the Network can put Anything that they want to, on the Network. There is no way of Policing what is put on the Network, Hence All of the Nasties.
It's really up to the individual to do his homework and of coarse SCAN Everything Downloaded before Opening.

I see your point. I was just wondering if it is possible for limewire to scan all files, after all Limewire Pro is a pay service.

Not a Chance. (as far as the scan is concerened)

Having the Pro Version only gives you minimal improvements over Basic and of coarse the benifit of getting new updates.
There's not much difference between the two.
