Requery time limit 6000+ seconds help

My Download is saying "Requery sent waiting 6250s for results" is there any way to limit the amount of seconds it takes to do this? 6000+ seconds is a really long time to wait. my brother says on his computer it never takes more than 10 but he doesn't know how to change those settings either. please help
