Default i can only d/l 3 files at a time, remainder is queued

i've looked all over the forum, checking stickies, doing searches but nothing seems to work. everything was working fine the other day and recently a virus struck. to get rid of it i used grisoft avg anti-virus. now however i can only download 3 files at once. the rest are queued until a file is completed or paused. any ideas?

i've heard low hdd space can cause problems, i will try and clear hard drive space, but can it be my cause?

1. OS version? XP SP2
2. What firewalls you have? the only anti virus i have is avg, otherwise the only firewalls are windows and the router
3. How much ram? 1.5Gb
4. Hard Disk space available? 1.6 of 37 gig, & 4.5 of 186 gig
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? surfboard 5100, netgear wgr614
7. Where are you trying to connect from? house
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? 4.16.7 & 1.6.0_05
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? telstra
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it says Your test worked!
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. no
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. i'm a bit of a newbie i guess
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? UPnp is enabled by default i believe. i don't think i'm port forwarding (i don't know how to!)
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall avg anti-virus
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). Australia

My guess is they are fakes. Beware of Fake files in search results

However if a virus, then try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

Could also Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link)

nah they're definitely not fakes. once one of the three files has finished downloading, the next starts up and downloads fine. all the files are full and intact once complete.

i've tried deleting the preferences folder. no luck tho.

it says on that downloads page 5000 files. i've only got a dozen in there! i don't download all that much, but i went through and deleted what i didn't need. not much has changed

I have the exact same problem. I go to piratesbay and find some downloads (from reputable sources), and it will only allow me to download three at a time while the rest are queued. I have obviously tried to change the number of downloads allowed through options, but no matter if I type in 5 or 5000, I cannot download more than three at a time.
