Can't change skins on Limewire I can't seem to change the skins on my Limewire. I've done it before, but I had to get a new computer so had to reinstall Limewire. Now, I can't get the skins to change. I just get 'Metal, Windows Classic & Windows theme' and the first 2 don't work. I want the "Pink & Black Theme". I had it before. I don't remember it being in a .zip file before. Please explain slowly as I confuse easily. Thanks. |
Use the link on the LW site to download it from Limewire. It will say needs more sources when it downloads, but hit find sources. And it will ask if you are sure if you want to use the skin. Click yes. |
What you just said didn't help me at all. I knew that part already. It was changing the .zip files to .lwtp files that I didn't understand. But I read somebody's step-by-step instructions here yesterday and found changing the skins easy. |
Can't Change Skins on 4.18.1 Pro I go to view/apply skins/get more skins and it take me to a web page with the skins listed. I have tried the directioins on the page to no avail. Any Ideas? Matt |
When you're on Limewire, you click on View - get more skins. When the page opens up, click on a skin you like. It will open up in a box to open or save, but it will come up like this: party_theme.zip (or whatever one you pick). All you do is 'Save' the file. Then open up your 'My Computer' icon, then click on 'Local Disc C, Documents and Settings, Client (or whatever you have typed there for you), Application Data, Lime Wire, themes. Your theme will be there but will be a .zip file. Just delete the .zip part and type .lwtp instead. It will tell you if you delete that, some files might not work, but do it anyway. It changes the .zip file to a regular file. Then, make sure Limewire is totally exited, re-open it again, click on 'View', 'apply skins', and your new skin should be there. Hope you understood all this. |

Hello everyone. I have found what sounds like some good advice on "Skinning". I haven't tried it yet, but that is next on my agenda today! I did find another way to get Limewire skins though! I am probably telling a lot of you something you all ready know but, maybe there are still a few people who can benefit. Here it is; Download themes right from the Limewire app. Simply start Limewire, select , All Types, type in Limewire Skins, and start downloading them When the pop-up asks if you would like to use the new theme, I select yes. Then I refresh the skins and Viola! There they are. A whole list of them. Now I am going to go search forums for some of y'alls homemade skins. Good luck to all. |
Thanks Daddy....Your way works Grea |
You are most welcome! Glad I could help! |
