welp....you just might have hosed yourself....said decoder may have been something else...
via your control panel un-install any codecs/decoders that may be listed there then try installing the K-lite codec pac which includes the codecs for playing DVDs....you might want to take the time to use the search function of this forum and search for CODECS...there are quite a few posts with good recommendations to users favorite codecs...
