![]() First let me say I'm not exactly sure this is the forum section I should be posting this question in. If it's not, I'm sorry. But I thought it was the section that could help me. First my sytem info: 1. I am using Windows XP SP2. 2. My firewall is the one that Windows comes with, no special add-on. 3. I have 1.5 Gigs of RAM. 4. I have about 5.5 Gigs of free space available, but I just ordered a new 500 Gigabyte Hard Drive. 5. My connection type is DSL. 6. I don't use a router. I use a Westell brand "WireSpeed" model modem. 7. I am connecting from my trailer. 8. I am using LimeWire version 4.16.7 and Java version 1.6.0_05 9. My service provider is Consolidated Communications, the local phone company. 10. I got the message "You're test worked!" 11. I am not sharing the connection with any other P2P programs. 12. I'm somewhat experienced, but by no means an expert. I have used KaZaA, KaZaA Lite, IMesh and BearShare in the past. 13. There is not a brick wall in front of the World Icon. 15. I am using Avast! version 4.8 Home Edition and SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition version 4.1.1046 16. I am living in the U.S. I don't have any problem connecting to and downloading files. The ones I search for and find I can download just fine. And at a good speed, also. I have two questions. 1. I have encountered corrupted files and I previously selected to stop downloading all currupted files when they're detected. I found out by looking in my Incomplete Files folder inside LimeWire that these were complete files, but they just had small glitches in the video. This is something I can live with. Is there any way to "tell LimeWire" to start downloading ALL of the corrupted files again? 2. When I do a search, I mostly search for video files (usually porn, but some music videos and MP3's). I find a few files, but the numbers in the search tabs beside the name of the file or person I'm searching for always comes back with numbers like 32/255 or 51/346 or 95/427. Also the files in the search window itself with fill up till the scroll bar appears on the right-hand side, then they'll start disappearing till I only have about 5 or 6 files listed there. Then it'll fill up again, then the files will disappear again. It will do this many times during the course of a search. And it doesn't matter how mant times I select "Get more results", the ratio of downloadable files to the number of available files stays about the same. The numbers on either side of the "slash" in the search tab will go up and down accordingly, but I ALWAYS end up with a very very small number of files I can download out of a very very large number that are "available". I get multiples (2 or 3) of the top few most common files but NOT NEAR ENOUGH to account for all the ones that should be listed. I don't remember if it did this when I first downloaded the program or not. I thought it might have something to do with the number if files I have and am sharing, but I have about 30 video files and a few audio files and I'm sharing them all, including partials. Please Help! This is really frustrating. |
